Providing puberty awareness seminars in middle school is critical for encouraging healthy growth, self-awareness, and informed decision-making among teenagers. As a competent resource platform, The Bougainvillea Art Foundation’s team developed a thorough strategy for a middle school puberty awareness session. The session occurred yesterday at Uma Public School.
In addition to puberty awareness, the workshop also covered the topic of reducing menstruation age in girls. It is a serious issue that requires attention from healthcare practitioners, researchers, and politicians. As a competent assistant, I will provide an overview of this problem, its potential causes, and consequences. The goal of discussing the matter was to prepare young females for the circumstance.
Dr. Kaynat Kazi, the founder of The Bougainvillea Art Foundation, emphasized that females’ decreasing menstruation age is a difficult issue that necessitates a diversified response. By identifying the probable causes and consequences, we can collaborate to encourage healthy lifestyle behaviors, provide education and support, and create policies and programs to combat this trend.
Objectives
- To educate students about the physical, emotional, and social changes that occur during puberty.
- To promote healthy habits, self-care, and positive body image.
- To address common concerns, myths, and misconceptions about puberty.
- To foster a supportive and inclusive environment for students to discuss their experiences and questions.
The workshop was aimed to encourage kids to open up and address an issue that is still considered taboo in some regions of the country. The seminar began with a brief introduction by Mrs. Sunita Sharma, the principal of Uma Public School. She greeted the guests. Students in grades 6-12 attended the session. The workshop was designed specifically for boys and girls to raise awareness of the changes that occur when they enter adolescence.
Dr. Kaynat Kazi introduces puberty awareness and creates a safe and polite space for conversation. Ms. Nandini Ray, Menstrupedia-certified Menstrual Hygiene Campaigner, discusses the bodily changes. She describes the physical changes that occur throughout puberty, such as growth spurts, body hair, acne, and menstruation (for girls). She employs visual tools, such as diagrams and movies, to demonstrate these improvements.
She also discussed cleanliness and self-care. She offered advice on maintaining good hygiene, such as showering, applying deodorant, and practicing proper menstrual hygiene (for girls). She also talked to boys about the significance of self-care, such as exercise, healthy diet, and getting enough sleep.
The school’s principal, Mrs. Sunita Sharma, discussed emotional and social transformations. She talked about the mental and social changes that come with puberty, such as mood swings, peer interactions, and body image issues. She also emphasizes the value of self-care, stress management, and strong interpersonal interactions.
Following the three speakers’ presentations, students were invited to participate in a Q&A and discussion to share their perspectives. She opened the floor for kids to ask questions and express their concerns. Encourage conversation and offer advice on how to handle difficult situations.
